MUMBAI: The medical interns of Maharashtra have decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike next week for an increase in their monthly stipend.
The interns have been demanding a stipend on a par with the rest of the country, but the state government is yet to reply. Their current stipend—of Rs 2,550 per month—is not enough, they claim.
"A total of 600 interns from all across the state will be fasting from May 2.
